The emerging Information and Communication Technologies in the past years were the reason for a tremendous discussion of the logistic processes. As a result, the concept of the Supply Chain Management (SCM) was developed during this decade. One important issue in SCM is the use of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) as a basis for new ways of co-operation within supply chains. The description of re-engineering case studies in the automotive supply chain provides interesting insights about new production philosophies in the European Automotive industry.
