Summary:
Automotive manufacturers have relied on new technology for vehicular lighting systems, to illuminate the road or to highlight overall appearance. Lamps are more than just a bulb and a glass lens, and this paper will explain optical engineering, and how it advanced lighting engineering. Technological advances will be highlighted, including past (halogens) and current technology. (id est, HID lamps and LEDs) What often goes unnoticed with new technology is its effects on consumers, mainly in higher repair rates. This paper will explain how some Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) have improved upon or reduced lighting costs, yet maintained the lighting system's ability to add value
