- Summary:
- Signaling lamps in recent years are increasingly expected to do much more than just send signals to nearby drivers and pedestrians. Whether lighted up or not, signaling lamps are now required to enhance the design appeal of the whole vehicle by providing jewelly and three-dimensional visual impressions. Further, since signaling lamps are installed in limited open spaces of the vehicle, demand is increasing for thin-shaped signaling lamps. To give shining and depth impressions, conventional signaling lamps have a crystalline lens and a reflector furnished with diffusion steps which require the lamp to have a greater depth. On the other hand, conventional flat signaling lamps have failed to generate satisfactory visual impressions. For these reasons, we have developed on a free formed surface a multi reflector having rectangular diffusion steps. When combined with crystalline lens steps, this reflector gives a jewelly and three-dimensional look to the signaling lamp
