Summary:
(PCBN)Polycrystalline cubic boron nitride cutting tools have been widely used for hard turning of cutting ferrous materials such as hardened steels. In high-speed interrupted cutting, however, despite their high potential to increase productivity, they have not been enthusiastically adopted by industries due to the unreliability against tool failure. This has prompted the need for a new PCBN material with high reliability against tool failure. The newly developed PCBN remarkably increases the machining reliability against tool failure at high-speed interrupted cutting of hardened steels
