Summary:
The influence of the channels of a liquid-cooled plate on the heat dissipation performance of battery module is investigated in this paper. A topology optimization method for obtaining channel configurations of the liquid cooled plate is presented. Firstly, the battery pack cooling system test platform is built to test the flow resistance of the liquid-cooled plate under different flow rates and the maximum temperature and temperature difference of the battery under different working conditions. Secondly, the geometric model of the battery pack is established, and CFD software is used to simulate according to the test conditions. The test results validate the correctness of the model. Then, taking the average surface temperature of the liquid-cooled plate as the optimization objective, the topology optimization structure of the liquid-cooled plate is obtained by variable density method. The influence of different inlet flow rate and inlet coolant temperature on the heat dissipation performance of the conventional liquid-cooled plate and the topologically optimized liquid-cooled plate are studied. The results show that the pressure drop of the optimized liquid-cooled plate is 23.7% lower than that of the conventional liquid-cooled plate when the flow rate is 8L/minutes When the flow rate is 4L/min, the temperature rise of the optimized liquid-cooled plate battery is 2.4°C lower than that of the conventional liquid-cooled plate. The optimized liquid-cooled plate provides a more efficient ability to cool the battery compared with conventional liquid-cooled plates. The modeling and analysis method in this paper can be used to optimize the design of the battery liquid-cooled plate and improve the heat dissipation performance of the liquid-cooled plate
