Summary:
The objective of the present study is to identify suitable tip clearances and volumetric flow rates for low-speed axial flow fans. The numerical analysis for this study is carried out using the Reynolds-averaged NavierStokes equation with the k-omega SST turbulence model to perform steady-state simulations. The results demonstrate that optimum performance is achieved with a tip clearance of 1 mm and a maximum volumetric flow rate of 10.74 m3/s. The novelty of this proposed work lies in enhancing the efficiency of axial flow fans with a circular arc cambered airfoil by using optimal tip clearance and volumetric flow rates through steady-state simulations. This method can be applied in the turbo machinery field and all types of jet engines to improve the performance of domestic and international flights, meeting future demands and expectations
