Physical Description:
1 online resource
Place of Publication:
Warrendale, PA SAE International 2007
Summary:
On the basis of the author's recent research on vehicle circuit protection, a Semiconductor Breaker and Relay (SBR) and a Semiconductor Protection and Control System (SPCS) of vehicle electrical components et cetera have been developed. The circuit structure and function of SBR and SPCS et cetera were analyzed and explained in detail. By replacing the conventional fuse, circuit breaker, and/or relay, SBRs and their different combinations constitute the SPCS. SPCS could protect circuits and electrical components from over-current, over-voltage, and battery reversing, prevent vehicle fire caused by short circuit, and extend battery's service life by over-discharging and supplemental charging control
