- Summary:
- This paper describes new developed chassis suspension system with using DFSS (Design For Six Sigma) tools for improving the ride performance of Hyundai Motor's 84 tipper trucks. This paper consists of two parts.Part 1 - Development design concept.Part 2 - Optimization design parameters. In part 1, we conducted such as collection customer's needs, bench marking and Quality Function Development (QFD) in order to define design concept. It could be easier to understand customer's requirements, explain which suspension parameters we can improve, and develop design targets. In part 2, we identified ideal function diagrams were composed of control factors, noise levels and outputs. This process was being accomplished by ADAMS model. ADAMS model was consisted of cabin suspension systems, flexible chassis frame, steering systems and tires. Also, the results is come out being accomplished by ADAMS was optimized the method signal to noise relation calculation. Finally, we verified optimized chassis suspension parameters by measuring test with other competitor company's vehicle, Hyundai Motor company's current and newly developed vehicles
