Summary:
ABSTRATThe objective of this work was demonstrate the application of a prototype automation by middle of an industrial communication network integrated the RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) technology and associated to algorithms of data processing that supplies pieces of information for the quality control of the painting process of components automotive. It has looked for to analyze and demonstrate the performance of the process, focused in productivity and quality and to reduce human intervention during the process. The system composed with the RFID technology has the objective to control all the entire painting process, and finish with check-list of the items from quality control. The process was automated to increase the capacity of painting pieces, with smaller number of possible failures. The automation has consisted in the creation of a system, composed by middle of electromagnetic labels (tag), communication antennas, controllers and PLC (Programmable Logical Controller). The methodology developed was through a basic research; that was possible to demonstrate all the control process of a painting in the automotive industry, by an electronic simulation. The results obtained supplied useful information about the benefits and the limitations in the use of this technology, applied in the automation in critical and danger industrial process, reducing the human intervention and increasing the quality and productivity of the painting process, this research could be adapted to apply in similar processes
