Physical Description:
1 online resource
Place of Publication:
Warrendale, PA SAE International 2006
Summary:
The issues of power demand during a main engine start in an aerospace application are addressed. The effects of a resonance arising due to the presence of passive networks in the path of the power flow are modeled and analyzed, and recommendations are made for minimizing them. Both frequency- and time-domain analysis is performed providing an insight into the resonance phenomenon with the associated increase in the peak power rating of power converter devices. Simulation results using Saber hierarchical tools are given, providing the value of the peak current demand from the power source during the resonance and suggesting how to control it
