- Summary:
- Vendors of computer aided design (CAD) technology and tools have embraced the concept of Product Lifecycle Management (PLM), and now offer suites of software that cover most aspects of the design, build, use and maintenance of products. The Boeing 787 Dreamliner program is an example of PLM implementation on a very large scale. Human modeling technology is an important component of the PLM tools, and has been integrated into the 787 design process. In order to complete this integration, much work was done on identifying the key users and design processes that were most impacted by the use of human modeling. This paper will describe how processes and standards for human modeling were developed and applied throughout the 787 program
