Summary:
In this work, we suggest a scheme of Air/Fuel control system for SI engines in which there is not need of a lambda sensor (O2 sensor). This system is based on a virtual lambda sensor, that is, an emulator of the real lambda sensor. The virtual lambda sensor is a model able to forecast the Air/Fuel values of an SI engine in function of features derived by a suitable processing of the cylinder pressure signal
