Summary:
Engineering education is being pulled in many directions by people and organizations with genuine interest in improving college curricula and better preparing students for the practice of engineering in today's workplace. However, with all this effort, little change in the undergraduate education content or methodology is apparent to those in industry, and there are no requirements for continuing education or licensing. The intent of this discourse is to help define the problems as perceived by a practitioner with BS and MS degrees, adjunct teaching experience, and 32 years of engineering practice.
