Summary:
Today, the interior noise perceived by the occupants is an important factor in the design of automotive interior assemblies. Buzz, Squeak and Rattle(BSR) noise in a cockpit are one of the major concerns mentioned above. Traditionally, BSR problems are found and fixed with physical tests at the late design stage, mainly due to lack of up-front CAE prevention and prediction tools. In this study, BSR CAE prediction in a cockpit assembly was conducted with the commercial software based on modal and forced frequency response analysis. Appropriate finite element(FE) modeling technique has been introduced to enhance the resolution of BSR prediction. Physical tests under two types of load spectra (random and sweep sine) for the verification of BSR CAE analysis results were performed on a cockpit assembly. The sound camera was used for pin-pointing and displaying BSR. The test results show good agreement with CAE analysis
