Summary:
The study was conducted in order to reduce the power consumption of valve train system. Initially, it was used the numerical simulation tool GT-VTrain, which covered the use of the mapping function of resistive friction power at different engine speeds. Then, it was carried out a comparative analysis of dynamic parameters to ensure smooth operation of the system with regard to wear, valve floating, mechanical components strength and engine performance. The final result showed which versions of spring and valve were the most appropriate in order to reduce power consumption while maintaining the functional parameters of the engine. The studies mentioned above were tested and certified in dynamic test bench and durability tests on dynamometers and vehicles were later carried out
