Summary:
Recognized the increasing complexity involved in the design process of Baja SAEs that occurred in face of ever greater demands by the organ that regulates competition and, considering the trend for this factor and also the current increase in competitiveness among the teams, it is important to the implementation of models structured and systematic approach to information related to the design of cars, in order to generate competitive advantage in this phase, by using methods of project development that will ensure that the resulting product meets the scope, quality, cost and time. Inserted in this context, this article aims to define the proposal for a reference model that will guide the sequencing of activities involved in the design of a Baja SAE, going from design stage to manufacture. This modeling is accomplished through the adaptation of macrophases of designing the Reference Model for Process Development of Agricultural Machinery - MR-PDMA - the design of a Baja SAE. The macrophases of designing of such a model is composed of the phases of Informational Design, Conceptual Design, Preliminary Design and Detailed Design, where each phase consists of activities, which are subdivided into specific tasks, which lead to the progressive development team design and planning of manufacturing. The results of the implementation of the proposed methodology are examined using the technique of case study with the team Bombaja - UFSM. These results help to confirm that the method is to implement improvements in the development process. Thus, the model generated contributes to the Baja SAE teams start to implement the development activities of the project in a systematic way, avoiding mistakes, inconsistencies and other flaws that may occur during their execution
