- Summary:
- Concerning the automotive transmission, the power loss reductioncan be achieved by substituting the tapered roller bearings andreducing operating temperature. With SKF's low friction taperedroller bearings, it is possible to reduce frictional torque by 30%on a manual transmission (MT) with lower fuel consumption and loweroperating temperature. Lower fuel consumption and CO₂ emission areboth special drivers for transmission's future generationpowertrains. This paper presents the results obtained for a MT with theSKF's E2 bearings as a proposal for the current differentialbearings
