After discussions and agreements for PROCONVE P7 definition andimplementation in Brazil, it has been started the process ofinvestigation and definition of the best strategy to achieveemission limits targets.The OEM's strategies are being defined considering differentfactors as system cost, company worldwide strategy, developmentlead-time, and others.An important factor to be considered is the long term strategyfor after-treatment systems to be adopted in the next legislation,in order to align the current strategy with the futuretechnologies.PROCONVE P8 which is expected to be similar than the EURO6European legislation presents a significant emission restrictionand will drive the strategies to be considered on enginedevelopment activities.It's expected that the EURO6/P8 after-treatment developmenttiming and costs will be even more relevant than the enginedevelopment costs.This paper intends to present the potential strategies forEURO6/P8 emissions achievement, detailing the technologies thatshall be applied, giving real results already available fromcurrent development in Europe
