- Summary:
- Regarding Brazilian fuel market, it's largely published 70% as the price ratio between hydrated ethanol (H100) and gasoline C (E22) that should be used to choose the cheapest fuel option in flexible fuel vehicles (FFVs). Such number comes from the fuel consumption (km/L) difference observed when using H100 and E22.This paper presents urban fuel consumption results obtained at PETROBRAS Research Center (CENPES), and Brazilian Vehicular Labeling Program [1], that show a mean value of 68% for fuel consumption ratio between H100 and E22.Regarding those percentages and high and low price scenarios for hydrated ethanol, it is also presented a comparative market study where it can be observed by Brazilian state which is the most economically advantageous fuel for costumers.Additionally, it is presented fuel consumption (km/L), cost (advantage/disadvantage percentage) and energetic consumption (MJ/km) curves, x hydrated ethanol volume percentage regarding four FFVs using, besides E22 and H100, three intermediate mixtures, in volume: 30% E22 70% H100 (H70), 50% E22 50% H100 (H50) e 70% E22 30% H100 (H30)
