Summary:
A 1,2,4-triazole derivate as amine salt of acidity phosphate ester (TAPE) was synthesized. Its tribological properties were evaluated using four-ball tribotester and compared with two commercial additives. The results indicate that the 1,2,4-triazole derivate possesses excellent load carrying, friction reducing and anti-wear abilities. In addition, investigations were performed using a three-dimensional non-contact surface profilometer and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) to interpret the possible mechanisms of the synthetic additive in friction process
