Summary:
This paper reports a study of road rage in the population of Ontario, Canada. Questions included on road rage behaviour, type of vehicle driven, mileage, amount of driving in congested traffic conditions and the amount of driving seen as stressful. Our focus here was on frequent road ragers. We found that frequent road ragers were more likely to drive trucks and vans and less likely to drive cars. Truck drivers were more likely to drive in stressful conditions and to drive more kilometres. Suggestions for reducing road rage involve changes to truck design and educational programs
