- Summary:
- Automatic transmissions are being developed in Combat Vehicles Research and Development Establishment, for tracked vehicle application in the power range from 500 - 1500 hp. The transmission is controlled, by means of a GSU through Micro controller based Electronic Control Unit. The ECU gets signals from various sensors and limit switches from transmission and GSU and it contains a chip (EPROM) which contains all control logics for transmission shift control. The EPROM allows the end user flexibility in tailoring a vehicle shift schedule to different type operations, should vehicle operating conditions and / or engine horsepower level change, EPROM updates can be incorporated without any major modification. This paper deals with the general control logic specifications for transmission of tracked vehicle applications
