Summary:
Amleto (1910) is an abbreviated Italian adaptation of Hamlet, which adapted the play's most famous scenes. However, the film is incomplete here, with the BFI's surviving materials only representing 556ft from the 1,000ft original. The scenes featured in the surviving material include Hamlet seeing his father's ghost and learning about his poisoning by his uncle, the players re-enacting his father's murder, Ophelia's madness and subsequent wandering into the river, and Yorick's skull. Also included are German intertitles
