- Summary:
- This film portrays an interpretation of an excerpt from Shakespeare's play Henry VIII. In this excerpt Henry VIII (Tefft Johnson), upon becoming infatuated with Anne Boleyn (Clara Kimball Young), decides to divorce his wife, Queen Catherine of Aragon (Julia Swayne Gordon). This causes disagreement between Henry VIII and one of his closest advisors, Cardinal Thomas Wolsey, who vehemently sides with Catherine. The Queen remains defiantly against the divorce, Wolsey excommunicates Henry VIII and denounces the changes made to the Bible that allowed Henry to marry Anne. However this is all in vain, and Henry crowns Anne as the new Queen of England
