"The Cultural Landscape Report for Fredericksburg National Cemetery is a comprehensive resource on the history, existing conditions, historical significance, and future management of the cemetery landscape. The first chapter, Site History, contains an illustrated narrative history of the landscape from before the cemetery was established in 1866 through 2023, with maps that depict the landscape in 1866, 1869, 1892, 1933, and 2023. The Existing Conditions chapter provides an illustrated narrative overview of the landscape and its current use and operation as of 2024. The third chapter, Analysis and Evaluation, reviews the historical significance of the cemetery according to the National Register of Historic Places, and provides an evaluated inventory of its cultural landscape characteristics and features to identify those that are significant and worthy of preservation. The last chapter, Treatment, provides schematic design and planning recommendations to preserve and enhance the historic character and contemporary use of the cemetery landscape"-- Provided by publisher.
