Notes:

The first Bible printed in America in a European language. The edition of 1200 copies was based on the Halle (34th) edition, with Esdras books 3 and 4, and Maccabees, book 3, supplied from the Berlenburg Bible. Cf. British and Foreign Bible Society. Historical catalogue, entry 4240.

Two states, described by Evans as impressions, noted. One (Evans 5127) has title page as transcribed above, the other (Evans 5128) has "nebst einem Anhang" for "nebst dem gewöhnlichen Anhang" and has "Parallelen" misspelled "Parllelen." A unique copy of a third state, which makes no mention of the Anhang, is held by the Library Company of Philadelphia.
