Notes:
The sixth of a series of 11 pamphlets, commonly known as the "Eliot tracts", published in London from 1643 to 1671 in the interests of missionary work among the Indians of New England. The present tract was issued by the Company for Propagation of the Gospel in New England.
In two states: 'To the supreame authoritie of this nation, ...' ends with: 1) 'Your Honors to serve you in promoting the Gospel of Christ. Signed in the name and by appointment of the Corporation. William Steele, Pesident.'; 2)'Your Honors humble Servants; John Owen. Joseph Caryl. ... [and 10 others]'.
In this state, the dedication is signed "John Owen [and 11 others]" on A3v, and the title page and A2v-A3r are partly in a different setting from Wing W2001B.
