Sir Francis Drake revived. : Who is or may be a pattern to stirre up all heroicke and active spirits of these times, to benefit their countrey and eternize their names by like noble attempts. Being a summary and true relation of foure severall voyages made by the said Sir Francis Drake to the West-Indies. Viz. His dangerons [sic] adventuring for gold and silver with the gaining thereof. And the surprizing of Nombre de dios by himselfe and two and fifty men. His encompassing the world. His voyage made with Chistopher Carleill, Martin Frobusher, Francis Knollis, and others. Their taking the townes of Saint Jago, Sancto Domingo, Carthagena and Saint Augustine. His last voyage (in which he dyed) being accompanied with Sir John Hawkins, Sir Thomas Baskerfield, Sir Nicholas Clifford, with others. His manner of buriall. / Collected out of the notes of the said Sir Francis Drake, Mastet [sic] Philip Nichols, Master Francis Fletcher, preachers, and notes of divers other gentlemen (who went on the said voyages) carefully compared together.

Notes:
"To the Reader" is signed on p. [8] (1st count): R.D.; it incorporates part of Francis Drake's dedication to Charles I and practically all of his address "To the Covrteovs Reader" first published in Nichols's "Sir Francis Drake Reuiued," London, 1626.
Signatures: A-M⁴ ²A-O⁴ ³A-³G⁴ ³H² (²A1 blank).
Leaf A1 of part 2 is blank.
Title within border; the words "His dangerons adventuring ... manner of buriall." are enclosed in brackets on title page.
Sir Francis Drake's portrait appears as a frontispiece and is included in pagination (p. [2],, 1st sequence) with Latin verse beginning "Drake perorati novit ..".
In four parts, each with separate dated title page; parts 1-3 have separate pagination and register, but were not issued separately; part 4 is continous with part 3. Part 1, "Sir Francis Drake revived" by Philip Nichols, was originally published in 1626 (STC 18544); part 2, "The vvorld encompassed by Sir Francis Drake", was originally published in 1628 (STC 7161); part 3, "A summarie and true discourse of Sir Francis Drakes West-Indian voyage" by Walter Bigges, was originally published in 1589 (STC 3056). Part 4, "A full relation of another voyage into the West Indies, made by Sir Francis Drake", was never published separately.
"The world encompassed by Sir Francis Drake (part 2) does not include the "Dedicatorie epistle intended to Q. Elizabeth" by Sir Francis Drake, and dedication and preface by Sir Francis Drake, baronet, nephew of the navigator, found in first edition, 1628; the role of Sir Francis Drake (the nephew) as compiler has been disputed. Cf. Wagner, Henry R. Sir Francis Drake's voyage around the world. San Francisco, 1926, p. 286.
The second, third and fourth accounts have individual title pages bearing imprint: London : N. Bourne, 1652.
All four parts identified as D2122 on Early English books microfilm 181:14; part 2 identified as F1329 on Early English books microfilm 1229:17; parts 3 and 4 identified as B2887 on Early English books microfilm 122:1.
