- The pseudonym Andrew Aguecheek is taken from the character in Shakespeare's Twelfth night.
- The actual calculator was John Tobler. The astronomical notes on the calendar pages (with a few omissions and additions) and the calculations (with some adjustments for the sun and tides) are identical with those in his Pennsylvania and country-man's almanack for 1766 (Germantown).
- Advertised in the Pennsylvania gazette, Philadelphia, July 11, 1765.
