- Advertised in the Boston evening post (T. & J. Fleet), Oct. 7, 1765: "The second edition of Ames's almanack for 1766, will be published this week.--The courts that are wrong in the Scotch [i.e., McAlpine and Fleeming's] edition will be corrected. Sold by the printers and booksellers in Boston." Advertised in the Massachusetts gazette and Boston news-letter (R. & S. Draper), Oct. 10: "Dr. Nathaniel Ames's almanack .. Agreeable to the first edition, excepting several of the courts which were inserted wrong in the first, are rectified in this second edition: --also other correction by Dr. Ames's own desire." - Parentheses substituted for square brackets enclosing edition statement.
- The cut on p. [17] is a copy of that executed by Paul Revere for the McAlpine and Fleeming edition.
