Summary:
In 1994, after completing his PhD in astronomy at Harvard University, Dr. Schmidt formed the High-Z Supernova Search Team at the Mount Stromlo Observatory, the headquarters of The Australian National University Research School of Astronomy and Astrophysics. Professor Schmidt and his colleagues observed a type 1a supernova that was born five billion years ago. Eventually, the data he and his team collected seemed to have been inaccurate, as if they had made a simple mistake in calculations.
