- Summary:
- On March 31, 2016, a night protest started in the Place de la République in Paris. In this plaza rally, called the “Up All Night” protest, a leaflet circulated that contained a fable of ancient Rome. This fable tells a story of a grassroots insurrection during a war. Using this protest and story, Rancière suggests the path modern democracy should take – equality in execution. What is real democracy, as Jacques Rancière sees it?
