Order of prayer composed for the Portsmouth, England Synagogue on occasion of the national fast day proclaimed by King George III of Great Britian in battle with France during the French Revolutionary Wars.
"Yaʻaḳov Segel" on title page refers to Jacob Levi, Minister to the Portsmouth & Southsea Hebrew Congregation, 1770-1820.

Includes an eighteen line Hebrew poem (in three stanzas of six couplets, selected from a fifteen stanza poem) composed earlier as an elegy for David Tevele Schiff (Chief Rabbi of Great Britian, 1765-1791; "חי חרוזים הנחמה על הקינה מחמש אלף בית על הגאון המפורסום רבינו דוד זצ"ל אב"ד דק"ק לונדון והמדינה... עליון גבה' שמים אין לפניך...") - page [3].
A nine paragraph responsive piyut composed for this occasion ("אדון עולמים מה נשגב שמך מרום מה נורא תהלותיך...") - pages 4-6.
