Summary:
Ingersoll was one of the most notorious members of the Tweed ring and was instrumental in the infamous new Court House corruption. Includes checks between Tweed and Ingersoll that were used as evidence in the court case and the reward poster after Tweed's escape from jail in 1875. Letter from Tweed to his wife detailing Tweed Ring activities and saying they are in a dangerous position, extracts from the Ingersoll vs. Tweed case, a letter from Tweed to Ingersoll in 1877 in very shaky hand asking him to 'discontinue suits against him as he is physically and financially in trouble'
