This ASTM special publication sets out the latest information on concrete and concrete-making materials, in sections on general considerations, freshly mixed concrete, hardened concrete, concrete aggregates, concrete-making materials other than aggregates, and specialized concretes. This edition adds information on new materials and test methods that have been developed since the 1994 edition, and contains new chapters on slag as cementitious materials and self-consolidating concrete. The order of chapters in the sections on concrete aggregates has been revised, and a chapter on mineral admixtures has been separated into two chapters. B&w photos and micro-images are included. Lamond and Pielert are fellows of the American Concrete Institute. Annotation ©2006 Book News, Inc., Portland, OR (booknews.com).
