Cassell, Petter, Galpin & Company were called by this name between 1878 and 1883.
Red cloth cover with beveled edges elaborately decorated. Front cover has black rules with a decoration of embossed black leaves surrounding the title printed in gilt with the series also printed in gilt at bottom. Back cover has design stamped in blind. All edges gilt stained. Unsigned illustration on title page with other unsigned illustrations on recto only of each page of text printed on thick cardlike paper with protective thinner paper guard between each page.
