- Summary:
- BiliBili, founded on June 26, 2009, and affectionately known as "B Station" by netizens, is an ACG (animation, comics, games) content creation and sharing video website. It has built an ecosystem of high-quality content around users, creators, and content as well as a multicultural community covering more than 7,000 interest circles. In recent years, BiliBili has been trying to explore a commercialization path that suits its own content ecology and community attributes. According to the results of previous failure tests, the single addition of an e-commerce section did not match well with the overall creative atmosphere of the community; therefore, BiliBili hoped that organizational restructuring would allow for better synergy between the different divisions of the e-commerce business. From the product adjustment to the staff structure, it can be seen that the e-commerce business is expected to become one of the most important revenue sources of the platform as a springboard to increase BiliBili's commercialization ability. Since 2019, BiliBili has gradually opened up Taobao, and multiple uploaders have started live-streaming with goods, strengthened charging, workshops, courses, and other functions, and enriched uploaders' advertising revenue, all of which show BiliBili Station's determination in commercialization exploration. In this case, students will learn about BiliBili's organizational restructuring and exploration of commercialization.
