- Summary:
- Hirakraja.com is a popular fitness and sports product retailer in Bangladesh. Established in 2016, the small and medium enterprise (SME) sold products online and at a showroom in Dhaka and had 20 employees by 2022. From the beginning of the business, the organization experienced high employee turnover that negatively impacted its business performance, operations, reputation, and growth. This case study highlights the reasons for the higher turnover in this SME. Readers are encouraged to evaluate the Hirakraja.com founder's limitations in understanding the motivating factors for their employees. Moreover, the case draws on Maslow's hierarchy of needs and social exchange theory to assess employee turnover.
