Stratford Technical College, a real university with a fictional name, is plunged into an ethical crisis when an employee named Iago appears to be enacting a plot to oust the university's primary investor, Lear, in an internal coup. Iago's plot capitalizes on the university's investment structure to implement the takeover in a way that is not readily obvious to the university's other stakeholders. Lear, as the university's major shareholder and protagonist of the story, must not only recognize the plot as it is unfolding but also attempt to stop the plot. An ethical dilemma in an organizational setting such as a business or university can occur when an individual manipulates events so that they profit at the expense of their organization and its stakeholders, violating the trust and responsibilities of their job.
