- Summary:
- The case discusses Blesolac, an instant baby food company in Cameroon, and its initiation and operations in the lower-middle-income country context. The company was established by a female entrepreneur whose aim is to provide healthy, nutritious baby food in the region and further expand the business. The increased demand for this commodity is due to changing trends in the working female population; however, this study uncovers many other reasons. The entrepreneurial initiative by Madame Pascaline Nenda (henceforth, Nenda) was to ensure that baby food was available at a competitive and reasonable price in the Cameroonian market. The case study also scrutinizes the impact of local production on the demand for baby food cereals, along with the challenges faced by the entrepreneurs in the market.
