- Summary:
- This case centers on an activity that explores representations of power through the construction of visual images made from five Lego blocks. Students in groups of four to five are given a set of 12 two-by-four Lego blocks that are similar in size but vary in color. In each group, students take turns to do the following exercise: use only five Lego blocks to construct a visual representation of power, where one Lego block has more power than the rest. In their groups, students will take turns to describe their visual representation, analyze the power dynamics between the blocks, and relate them back to course concepts.
