Summary:
"The book is a general audience adaption of the author's earlier book, All God's Animals: A Catholic Theological Framework for Animal Ethics (Georgetown University Press). This book argues that contemporary Catholic theology provides ample reasons for believing that animals will join us in heaven. The case for that is based upon and constructed out of biblical testimony and contemporary Church doctrine. The central claim of the book is that animals are included in the work of Christ, in ways appropriate to each animal. This claim has ethical implications. If animals are to join us in the next age, then our treatment of animals should, like other moral actions, strive to anticipate that future reality, the kingdom of God, in whatever ways that grace and circumstance allows us to do"-- Provided by publisher.
