- Summary:
- Nado de Fora is the name of a rock islet on the Vicentina coast where shellfish fishermen pick barnacles. One of the local fishermen of Vila do Bispo explains to us that most rocks in the region have a name which is passed on from generation to generation and used amongst fishermen to share their location. The barnacle - considered a gastronomic delicacy - is a living resource of this coast and is of great economic importance to the county. However the picking season of this crustacean is closed and the shellfish fishermen are dedicated to harvesting other varieties of shellfish while fishing with rod intensifies all over the Vicentina shore.
