- Due to the united and concerted effort by the people the glorious Liberation War of Bangladesh in 1971 took the form of a people's war. Millions of people were killed in this war and more than two hundred thousand women were raped. In this documentary "People's War: 1971", the strategy, the participation and sacrifice of the common and marginalized people, have been told. The interviewees of the participants of both the conventional and guerilla battles, role of women in the war, the genocide and destruction perpetrated by the Pakistan Army and at the same time, the resilience and resistance of the common people, have been depicted.
