- This collection of stereographic and postcard images was produced by Underwood & Underwood (two stereographs), Sallo Epstein & Co. (one postcard) and Imp. Ad Weick (one postcard). The Underwood cards are captioned on the front in English (The Boer Prisoners (Cronje's men) resting on the road from Paardeberg to Modder River S. Africa) and on the back in English, French, German, Spanish, [Danish? Swedish?], and Russian (The Over-powered Boer Prisoners (Cronje's men) resting on the road from Paardeberg to Modder River S. A.). The Sallo Epstein postcard portrays Teddy Roosevelt in a hand-colored yellow riding uniform, standing in front of a Boer encampment; there is an English caption (Where are the Booas?) and marginalia: (Q) What will he do when he sees them. This postcard was mailed [stamp missing; cancellation date obscured] to Mr. Blowers in Montmartre, Paris. The Imp. Ad Weick postcard portrays a photo of Boer general Christian de Wet, seated; there is a French caption (La Guerre au Transvaal, Christian de Wet, Gravure du Journal l'Illustration) and marginalia: Mon mari a tellement souffert que le docteur a fait des piqûres de morphine [My husband suffered so much that the doctor administered morphine injections]. This postcard was mailed [two French 5-centime postage stamps in tact, cancellation 7 Feb. 1902] to a Monsieur Jean Ciran [?] in Rouen, France by J. Eisard [?].
