- The first volume in the Islamic Archaeological Studies series was published in 1978, which coincided with the seventy-fifth anniversary of the establishment of the current building of the Museum of Islamic Art in Cairo. Five issues of the bulletin were subsequently produced until 1995. In that year, publication of the bulletin came to a halt before it began again in 2016, welcoming contributions by researchers and scholars from Egypt and around the world. This volume is dedicated to the leading Egyptian Islamic and Coptic archaeologist Abdel-Rahman Abdel-Tawab. It includes nine articles, eight in Arabic and one in English.
