- Summary:
- This second episode of the series brings the viewer along with Dr. Rick Pettigrew as he visits Tarawa, the capital of the Republic of Kiribati, with Taraia Object Expedition colleagues Steve Schultz and Tom Reitter in June 2025. The purpose of this trip to Tarawa was to meet personally with Kiribati government and cultural officials ahead of ALI’s application for an official research permit to conduct archaeological fieldwork on Nikumaroro Island, which is within the territory of Kiribati. The trip was an exciting and productive start to a collaboration of ALI and Purdue University with the government and people of Kiribati
