"This book presents the memoirs of Rabbi Yitzhak Luria Rabani (1910-1997), a descendant of generations of rabbis and community leaders in Isfahan, Iran. In addition to his role as rabbi and community leader, he was also a teacher, deputy principal and principal at the school on behalf of the "Alliance, All Israel Friends" educational network in Isfahan, and was called by his students and admirers, "Mossieu Yitzhak", after the polite title Monsieur ("Mr") by which principals and teachers were addressed in the network's schools, where the language of instruction was French. He was also an aliyah activist and assisted representatives of the Jewish Agency in their activities in Iran. Rabbi Rabani's memoirs, written in his final days in Persian and translated into Hebrew by his daughter, Ahtaram Zakkaim (Rabani), reflect the life of the Jewish community in Isfahan in his generation and in the generations before him. The Jewish family in Iran is portrayed in them as a close-knit family that cares for the future of its children and their education and for the preservation of Jewish spiritual traditions and values ​​despite the many obstacles, alienation, and hostility that were the lot of the Jews living in exile among Shiite Muslims. The author of the memoirs was orphaned by his father as a teenager and was tasked with supporting his mother and young sisters. Out of a natural sense of responsibility, he also responded to the community's request to continue the path of his ancestors, studied the laws of slaughter, among others from the descendants of the Kabbalist Mullah Or Shraga in Yazd, Iran, and received ordination to the rabbinate.
