- 《小爾雅》同《爾雅》一樣，是傳統語言學領域中的訓詁類書籍，分類解釋詞語及名物，作者不詳。全書分十三章，在篇目、體例上仿《爾雅》而不盡同于《爾雅》，内容較《爾雅》廣，補其不足。其篇幅不大，内容却極富，涉及單字複詞，語句結構，人倫世故，冠服器用等，又因其傳世較早，大量輯録了先秦經籍訓詁，故有較大價值，是研究古代典籍，考定名物制度的重要工具書。本次整理匯集了《小爾雅疏》《小爾雅訓纂》《小爾雅疏證》等其七部書的成果，删同存異，并補索引，便于實用。
