- 本書共100卷，保存了極豐富的樂府詩。編者郭茂倩對每類樂府詩都寫了題解，徵引浩博，其中部分古籍今已失傳，故更值得重視。本書編集了陶唐到五代的詩作，分爲郊廟、燕射、鼓吹、横吹、相和等十二類，其中以相和、雜曲爲菁華，郊廟燕射歌辭則大多是糟粕。本次點校以文學古籍刊行社的宋本影印本作底本，用汲古閣本對校，還參校了有關各史的樂志、作家的本集、《玉臺新詠》及《考異》《唐文粹》等相關古籍，改正了一些脱誤，較爲完善。
